Skin needling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is part of our advanced Skin Rejuvenation series. We use an innovative, non-invasive device that stimulates the growth of collagen as part of your skin’s natural regeneration mechanisms. Skin needling treatment aims to tighten, lift and rejuvenate skin with minimal downtime.
Collagen induction therapy is useful for patients who want to address the appearance of ageing, fine lines, uneven skin tone, uneven texture, stretch marks and scar tissue on the face. Skin needling treatment can be performed with Platelet Rich Plasma to deliver enhanced results.
The microneedling device has a spring-loaded disposable needle tip that uses a vibrating, stamp-like motion, offering a controlled method of treatment. This minimises pain and discomfort, with less damage to the epidermis.
It will look like you have a mild to moderate sunburn. Slight tenderness and sensitivity may follow the treatment, and normally you will recover the same day or within 48 hours.
A number of our patients will have sensitivity to the tip. We offer numbing cream to desensitise the area prior to treatment.
We will prescribe post-procedural skin care.
Different people will have a difference tolerance to the procedure. For most people, there is only a minor amount of pain that is bearable. Numbing cream can be used if you’re concerned about pain.
Yes. Micro-needling helps build tissue within stretch marks by producing collagen.
The treatment can take approximately 30 to 60 minutes. However, this will depend on the size of the area being treated. The skin’s inflammatory reaction is brief and the redness of the skin fades within 12 to 48 hours.
The number of treatments you will require will be determined by your specific requirements. Our dermal therapist will discuss this with you during your initial consultation. Most people usually undergo a minimum of three treatments, each spaced four weeks apart.
Yes. Microneedling is safe to use on all skin types and colours.
The cost of skin needling will depend on what type of treatment you require and how extensive the treatment is.
