FAQs — HydraFacial MD Treatments
How Does HydraFacial Work?
This is a deep-exfoliating procedure designed to dislodge and remove impurities. Firstly, your Dermal Clinician will cleanse and exfoliate your skin, utilising the specialised tips to extract debris and remove impurities without irritation, while simultaneously introducing hydrating skin solutions with potent antioxidants. This exfoliation process is similar to chemical peels, which also prepare the skin to maximize the benefits of rejuvenation treatments.
Your Dermal Clinician will then finish by selecting the appropriate skin care products to further moisturise and protect your skin. These would be advised to use in your daily routine to help you maintain your results.

Are There Any Side-effects?
HydraFacial MD focuses on overall skin health which reduces the side effects experienced following the treatment.
The most common side effects are mild redness in the skin straight after treatment. However, this is usually short lived, and often has subsided by the time patients leave the clinic.
Some patients may experience some mild ‘purging' (breakouts) and light dryness or flaking of the skin a few days following the treatment. These side effects are usually very minimal and resolve shortly after.

What's The Difference Between Microdermabrasion And HydraFacial?
Microdermabrasion involves exfoliating the skin using an abrasive crystal or diamond-tip device to remove the top layer of dead skin cells to improve skin texture.
Unlike Microdermabrasion, HydraFacial is a multi-step treatment which uses a unique, patented Vortex-Fusion delivery system which gently exfoliates, extracts and hydrates the skin. The spiral design of HydroPeel® Tips, used in conjunction with the HydraFacial proprietary vacuum technology and serums, creates a vortex effect to easily dislodge and remove dead skin cells and impurities while simultaneously delivering hydrating skin solutions.
There is the added benefit of the customised skin boosters to further treat and nourish the skin, making HydraFacial a suitable for patients who can't tolerate microdermabrasion.

Are HydraFacial Treatments Customised?
While the treatment steps of a HydraFacial are the same for all patients, the treatments can be tailored through the use of HydraFacial boosters. Our Dermal Clinicians understand that every patient and skin is different and will select the right treatment serums to target your specific skin concerns.

What Does A HydraFacial Do For Your Face?
A HydraFacial MD treatment is an effective skin health treatment that can help significantly improve the overall look and feel of your skin, not just on your face, but anywhere on the body!
It is a deep cleansing skin treatment that infuses your pores with nutrient-rich serums to hydrate and nourish while removing dirt, oil, and impurities. The vortex vacuum system and unique spiral pattern tip helps to gently exfoliate dead skin cells, increase circulation and stimulates cell turnover.
With the use of skin boosters, such as Hydrating, Retinol or Peptide boosters to provide intense hydration, this treatment can help to improve collagen production, minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, and other imperfections.

Is A HydraFacial Better Than A Regular Facial?
It depends on your skin needs and goals. HydraFacial is providing quick, visible results with no downtime, which is perfect if you're short on time, or to prepare your skin for an upcoming event and love fast results.
However, if you’re looking for a treatment with less physical exfoliation, have an impaired skin barrier or something that is suitable during pregnancy, a regular facial such as our Signature Clinical Facial or Medi-Facial might be the right choice for you.
HydraFacial is not just an exfoliation treatment, but a multi-treatment facial, tailored to suit most skin types just as a regular facial can. Our facial treatments are great for ALL skin types to treat a wide range of skin conditions and concerns to achieve a refreshed looking and feeling complexion.
Overall, it’s best to speak to a qualified Dermal Clinician before undergoing any type of cosmetic procedure so they can help you decide which treatment is best for your individual skin care needs and goals.
